A Day Dream

Today the sky has fallen.

The grey clouds lie all around, blurring the tree-covered hills and empty houses so that nothing looks real.

A day dream.

Remember before when we crunched over crisp fallen leaves and watched the sun kaleidoscope it’s rays through coloured branches?

Now we squelch over a soggy carpet of red and gold, and trudge through puddles of suckling mud.

The trees shed their glory and we trample it underfoot without a thought.

Today the sky has fallen.
